How to get good images with the BRT
This is an introductory guide. You will gain experience and hopefully you will feed that back into the forums for others to learn. The very best way to get a good picture is to find what worked for someone else and develop your request around that success.
Look at the Image Gallery which you can reach by the links down the left hand side of the main page. If you click on an image to see it at its full size there is also a table of details showing all the parameters used to obtain that image.
Moon Brightness - this deals with the problem of the stars being blotted out by bright moonlight.

How to get a good picture with Constellation Cam - This has a broad field of about 40 degrees and produces a picture of a large area of the sky; normally a constellation. This camera often includes the sides of the dome.

It is not possible here to cover all the alternatives. This is merely a starters guide.

If you open the picture with the experimental Java applet then when you have made it look its very best you have the option of saving it to the gallery and the picture will join all the others. You can also vote for which pictures you think are the best.
Alternatively if you process the picture yourself and you are pleased with it then send it to us and we will put it in the photo Gallery. Please don�t forget to give us details of the camera, the exposure and the filters as a guide to others.
